I use art to understand where I’ve been and where I am. I’m curious as to how my mental illness will manifest through my art over time. Where it originally started as a word or question it is now manifesting in scenes and stories. Perhaps this can open up the mental health conversation and what we can do to live through these experiences.
An article on the importance of self-care. Self-care is about doing what you have to do in order to get clarity. Mental health has a way of blurring your vision and distorting reality, self-care clears the fog and puts everything into perspective. This trip has done some of that for me, given me the clarity I needed in order to move forward.
